The Masterpiece 2021

Commemorating all the creative talents in the fashion industry through their so-called masterpieces, this year’s Masterpiece takes us back to memory lane from yesteryear since the beginning when fashion is recognized not only as pieces of clothing to cover humans from dirt, heat, cold, but also a statement of their own personalities.

Ranging back from the 1900s to the 2020s, The Masterpiece showcases the works of 15 talented designers, Andreas Odang, Denny Wirawan, Priyo Oktaviano, Katy Matskevich, Imelda Kartini, Livette, Viena Mutia, Moral, Nila Baharuddin, Julianto, Hartono Gan, Denny Opulence, Reni Moe, Coreta Louise and Jesus Cedeno. Meanwhile, I Fashion Festival presents the brilliant fashion works of 6 successful designers, local and international, from Coreta Louise, Katy Matskevich, Reni Moe, Jesus Cedeno, Julianto and Denny Opulence.

Fashions trends come and go (and come again, and go again) but there are certain styles that will always be irrevocably tied to the era that made them popular. This year’s The Masterpiece lets us go back in time and remember some of the biggest fashion trends from each decade, from the early 1900s, the roaring ‘20s, the elegant ‘30s, ‘40s and ‘50s, the hip ‘60s and ‘70s, the vibrant ‘80s and ‘90s to Y2K, and even recent times two decades after the turn of the millennium.

Each of the designers presented their own flare combined with the inspiration they pour onto their design from these diverse decades. In turn, viewers are given an array of scintillating fashion parade that takes them back to the past, present and future. Inspired by the Victorian style of the 1960s, Livette Tenun features a dress ruffles at the neck and wrist, with puffy sleeves, and a dashing red songket at the bottom.

“This is an amazing event for the creative industry because designers get an opportunity as well as a challenge to present their best fashion works, and of course a source of pride for them as designers to reveal all of their potentials which are realized in the form of a Masterpiece,” shares Mrs. Liliana Tanoesoedibjo, Chairwoman of HighEnd Magazine and designer of her own fashion house, Livette Tenun.
